01. The challenge

The objective was to redefine the user experience of the Jupiter Asset Management website. The previous site presented many opportunities to simplify the complexity and elevate the overall experience.

02. Research & Discovery

UX & Technical Audit

To begin the discovery phase of the project, we firstly conducted an assessment of the existing experience, conducted workshops to gather feedback from internal stakeholders and compiled an audit from a UX and development perspective.

User Research & Competitor Analysis

The audit allowed us to gain a full understanding of the pain points from both internal stakeholders across a variety of areas of the business, as well as the customer relations teams who work directly with users. As part of the audit, a competitor analysis was also completed, identifying features and functionality that could enhance the user experience across the site.

03. The Solution

Restructuring the Information Architecture

As part of the redesign, the overarching information architecture was also reviewed and restructured to create a more fluid experience for users. To address this, I conducted an extensive assessment of the user pain points and business vision. This then allowed me to rescope the site structure, content flows and taxonomies, to create an experience that is easy to navigate and is tailored to each user group.

Tailored User Journeys

We also analysed the overarching user flows. Reviewing the content itinerary, utilising wire-flows and refining page narratives to ensure a smooth transpose to the new framework and to validate UX decisions for a more tailored user experience.

When constructing the wireframes a component based approach was used, this not only aligned with the build process, but also allowed the opportunity for new pages could be created with ease while retaining consistency.

04. The Result & Day 2 Opportunities

Not only was the website well received within the business, but it also reduced the number of issues raised by users while improving the acquisition funnel and overall user experience.

Due to the size of the project and the nature of a large-scale website redesign, the scope included a phased release with the opportunity for refinements and new features as part of a Day 2 launch. We identified opportunities and potential tasks to be added to the Day 2 backlog depending on the appetite within the business. These would also be guided and influenced by the analytical data and findings from the Day 1 launch.
